June 24, 2007.22:15 Skanmaster: Electronic Battling Action Figures
This one should launch really soon as well. In terms of aesthetics this is one of my best. I think the figures for these turned out fantastic. It'll be interesting to see how this one travels as its up against some very heavy licenses this year (Shrek, Transformers, Spiderman 3, POTC3) so it'll be tough.
More info to come on these soon and i'll also be posting some pics as well.
June 24, 2007.22:10 Battleground : Crossbows and Catapults
Well its finally out, and now we just have to wait to see the response at retail.
It launched in Australia this week with the TV also going to air. I believe that the US release is also imminent.
Overall, pretty happy with how this product turned out. Not 100% happy but then again you never are,
Website also goes live either today or tomorrow. Not sure. Anyway for those interested the website is www.battlegroundgame.com.
And now we wait...fingers crossed...
June 14, 2007.09:21 New product out
I am now counting down the days as i wait for one of my new products that i've been working on is about to be launched.
Battleground : Crossbows and Catapults is a product that myself and fellow toy designer, Brad Virgo have been designing for Moose. This is the result of eighteen months of development and we now wait with baited breath for it to hit the shelves. We're probably now only a couple of weeks away. Can't wait!
Pics to come soon as well as website link.

I've been with this toy company for about three and a half years now and have had four products out a retail. Now all of a sudden i have three about to hit the shelves in the next 3 months or so. I find it amazing how long it can between products considering how full throttle the job is and how many differnt jobs you always seem to be working on.
Anyway, i guess, for me personally i get to experience the fun part soon of seeing the fruition of a lot of hard work and get to see lots of my toys hit the shelves worldwide.
Its a funny ole industry i guess, sometimes you feel like you'll tear all your hair out, then the next you'll be standing on top of the world wondering how you ended up with such an awesome job.
Hopefully real soon i'll be able to put up on this site some of the stuff i've been working on over the last eighteen months. Two major new brands and a new generation of one of my first products that is still out there selling well.
Hmmm...i've got to learn to write more interesting stuff. I can only hope i get better at this...
May 01, 2007.21:54 Greetings and Salutations
Hi folks,
This is my first ever Blog. I posted some pics and a brief description the other day of some of the first products i worked on in the toy industry, and it got me to thinking maybe i could use the blog to maybe talk abit about how the toy iindustry works, processes and the role of illustrators and product designers in this industry.
I figure this may be of interest to some people as it is always nice to get an insight to an industry
and how it works. I've notioced that most of the focus around here is games industry oriented so i guess i'll just offer up a somewhat different perspective and maybe that'll interest a few people.
Anyway for those interested, stay tuned!
